Credentials:
Currently, Sean is Instructor of Guitar at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. He has taught privately for nearly a decade through his own studio and through several music stores in middle Georgia. He has both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Georgia in Music Performance. During his graduate study, Sean was a teaching assistant and taught courses on guitar methods.
His students span all ages and all levels of ability with many returning for years of study. Sean is dedicated to his craft and his students and can provide many useful teaching tools and techniques which he tailors to an individual’s personal goals.

About Lessons:
Lessons are offered in a variety of styles and genres either one-on-one or online, via webcam. Students begin with basic lessons on the instrument that, once accomplished, allow the students the opportunity to develop proficiency in any style they most desire to play.
Incorporated in the study are lessons on:
- Music Theory
- Ear-training
- Sight reading
- Song Writing
- Playing Technique
- Practice & Performance Technique
For advancing students, lessons might also include (depending on the student’s interests):
- Advanced theory and jazz theory
- Artist studies (study playing styles of top performers in that genre)
- The basics of recording
- Improvisation

Lessons are available one-on-one or online via skype for those outside of the middle Georgia area. Study once a week in a 30 minute or 1 hour session. Most in-person lessons are available in Rome and Athens, Georgia while some are given in Milledgeville as well.
Online Lessons:
Lessons also offered through Skype (free online video communication service). Students will need the following:
- Skype account
- Paypal account
- An email account capable of receiving at least 10mb of material at a time (most can)
- A computer with internet access
- Web cam and microphone (Note many webcams have built in microphones, so be sure to look for that feature when purchasing).
- Printer – recommended
I can meet for a short online test of the system prior to the lesson to ensure the quality of the video and sound and to schedule the first lesson. Payment is also made prior to the lesson via Paypal.
Policies:
Cancellations must be made with at least a 24 hour notice. I reserve the right to charge up to the cost of a lesson for any absence without advanced notification.
